I like to mix my dyes and keep them handy for hit-and-run dyeing. We all know that they are good at room temp for a week maximum, so I keep mine in an old ice chest cooler with a pack or two of blue ice if needed. It's not as cold as a fridge, but If I can keep temperatures around the low 50s, it seems to keep them considerably longer. I usually put some shop cloths on the bottom to soak up the inevitable dribble. It also keeps the mixed dyes safely contained.

A few months back I got a mini fridge off of freecycle. Up until now it has been cool enough outside that just keping the dyes in the turned off fridge has kept them cool enough. Now that summer is here(shorts and tank top time) I keep it running most of the day and if I remember turn it off at night(its old and kinda noisy).

My studio has a kitchen so there's an old klunky fridge. I don't leave anything at room temp, even chem water and it's getting pretty colourful in there!
