So in all this time I have done dyeing on silk I had never done any tied resist dyeing on charmeuse(aka silk satin). So last week I folded up some pieces.
The fabric is pretty thick(19.5 momme) but my first piece came out pretty well, good saturation especially the turquiose wh was only half thickened(1/4tsp/cup). So yesterday I dyed my second one, and just having rinsed it I see I got poor saturation to inner layers

Again the turquiose was fine(same stock) but the other colors did poorly. The other dyes were my regular thickness(1/2tsp/cup). I think the problem may be inexperience with the fabric in this medium thus not knowing when properly saturated. Also, the first piece was slightly damp(very slightly) and the second piece was bone dry.
I'll post pics soon of the two. Just needed to vent to those who understand
