Since we were left high and dry with the disappearance of the old forum and related resources, I've been exploring various online resources: the forum software, the gallery, and the wiki. I also discovered Moodle--online educational course management software that my students, colleagues, and I have enjoyed using. It is greeat as an adjunct to regular classes, as well as distance learning.

Is anyone interested in exploring this for the fiber arts? I suspect that one could conduct fiber arts workshops via the Internet. I know how valuable live classes are, but I also know how few I am able to attend because of constraints of time, money, and geography.

Any thoughts?

There's an online course on dyeing which is offered through Quilt University. Students have complained that the information in that course is inaccurate or incomplete, but that first-time dyers give it good reviews because they don't know that what they've been taught is not the best. I've wondered if there might be a need for a higher-quality course, but perhaps not so many students would register with one that is not listed at Quilt University.
