.... I was referring to the home page of the Tie-dye Wiki site. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me the name of the design on this shirt and if it's an Indian Spiral (or indeed what and Indian Spiral looks like - the site only gives the procedure). I'm very new at tie-dyeing, my brother and I are just getting into it, and I love this site and enjoy all the help I can get. Thanks!

That design is called 'earth'.  When it is done in traditional colors, it is easier to see where it got it's name:

I also have one I think may be what is referred to as 'Indian Swirl':

I can't remember for sure, but I think I drew a diagonal line, accordion folded and tied the folds, then created a swirl on either side.  Either that, or I diagonally folded the shirt, created a swirl in the middle of the surface, and accordion folded along the diagonal fold.

Yup! Basically, you draw the curved line, which I like to do using a compass(well, a pen attached to a length of string). Accordion fold along the line and then scrunch the "inner" portion of the earth.

Here's another example, imperfect but a favorite of its wearer. The planet is a perfect circle when viewed from the side.
