I think I mixed a LWI mess, and am wondering if anyone has any ideas for an overdye color.

I dyed four yards of a linen/rayon blend in a six gal. bucket. The first color was Pro Butterscotch (which I love), then Pro Olive at about 1/2 t. to 2 c. H2O (needed a weaker strength for some yarn I was dyeing), and then Pro Camel at the same concentration as the olive and butterscotch. Then the soda ash and water to soak. I am not sure it's going to be a great finished product, and am wondering if anyone has ideas of brighter overdye colors. I am not sure it's a complete 'wash" yet. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. The resulting LWI fabric is going to be the French cheese makers smock from a folkwear pattern for me.

When you do LWI with even one pre-mixed color like those, it's anybody's guess what results you'll get, as the colors spread out and separate. It's a lot of fun, and often produces great results, but it's totally unpredictable. Combining three different pre-mixed colors makes it even more impossible to imagine what you'll get!

I think you should wash out and dry your fabric, take a picture, and post it. Then we can give you our opinions. smiley
