That seems to me like it'd be very difficult. The only knotwork on clothing I've done was with a fabric marker, black, on an LWI-dyed t-shirt. I got bored of doing the drawing after finishing the first sleeve - it was just a band of knotwork around the bottom of the sleeve - so that's all there is. It's one of my husband's favorite shirts. I'd rather not take a picture now because it's been worn heavily for many years now.
The book I was using for inspiration was Aidan Meehan's
Celtic Design Knotwork: the Secret Method of the Scribes. Pretty, but complex.
I could easily see doing knotwork in wax resist, but I just can't imagine tie-dye knotwork. It just seems like it would be impossible. I'd
love to see the results if anyone proves me wrong.
