the difference between tie-dyeing and batik dyeing?
(I´m trying to find a Norwegian term for tie-dyeing, that´s why I´m asking.  Not sure what word to use.  If I translate it directly, people would think I mean batik dyeing)   afro

Tie-dyeing is "bound resist" and batik is "wax resist".

Thank you, Paula!  I guess I can look for a term that includes bound resist in Norwegian, and that also says something about what colors to use...most Norwegians think the only option for coloring clothes is using general purpose dyes from a supermarket and a washing machine...
