I am very excited to have found this forum! I have been searching for an answer to my questions for many months and I believe that with what I have already seen here that someone will be able to help me out. I will attempt to post my pictures, if they do not show then I would be more than happy to send an email to anyone who would be willing to look. I will put up some links too.

In the process of developing a line of clothing I have spent a lot of time researching a few different brands that inspire me. I am very interested in knowing how they achieve the dyed look on their items. Some of them use the phrase “tea stained” but my research tells me that is usually non-permanent and not typically used on clothing. Some of these may be bleached. Thank you to anyone who can help me.

In these pics I am not concerned with the screen printed images, just the fabric and how it was dyed. Thank you again.

I'm just guessing here, but some of the shirts look like they may have been discharge dyed.  The dark ones that have just a hint of rust color may have had bleach sprayed on to lighten them.  The lighter ones that have streaky effects could have been tied, then dyed with very light dye solutions in a dyebath.  Best way to find out is experiment.

Happy dyeing!

For security reasons html markup is not allowed. BBCode is used instead. The tags are img with brackets around it at the beginning, the image address, then
/img within brackets.

There has been a rash of clever mischief in Bulletin Boards using some pretty simple little html coding. This is why it is disabled here.

Thank you for the answers so far. I am very limited on my personal time which I could use for testing. I work a bit more than is probably good for me, however I need to find an absolute solution for my question. Does anyone know of a company or person who would try and figure this out for me? Of course I would pay a reasonable amount for a good answer and maybe a sample or two. Any help would realllly be nice! Thank you.

Tyler.
