I know I can get some premixed browns, but I am feeling a little cheap when it comes to shipping costs... I just got an order last week, and forgot to order brown, so I'm waiting until I have a whole list of things again to order.

Can I mix it with what I've got?

I have lemon yellow, golden yellow, turquoise, sky blue, midnight blue, fushia, and scarlet (all prochem).

I have tried mixing brown, but so far I have gotten purple and a brick red... still nothing brown. I'm thinking I want at least a maroon... but preferably the color of a chocolate bar.

Does anyone have any mixing recipes or suggestions? Even if you have a recipe for brown using other primary colors than the ones I have, I'm still want the info. I just am not having much luck figuring it out completely on my own.

To mix a brown, I like to start with orange, and add a little blue, and then a little more, until it looks right.

Try Olli Niemitalo's Dye Mixer Applet. It's a good way to visualize what you can get by mixing different amounts of different colors. You'll still have to decide how much of each color to use, but playing with the Dye Mixer online first gives you a clearer idea of what works.
