I have been tying the "headress" shown on the dvd by Doug Feltus and Doug Otten (Tie-Dye Made Easy). I have the tie down. It's a folded shirt spriraled from the center edge of the shirt - counterclockwise makes the "arms" go up and clockwise makes the arms go down.
And then one dyes it like a sprial, but I want the center to be bright and stand out. The first shirt I did, did just that! But I don't really know what I did. haha. First time's the charm. The second one was interesting and the third one I thought a lot about, but still the center wasn't a stand out. I know where the center (the neck) of the shirt is on the outside of the sprial, but that doesn't seem to help me in my color layout.
Anybody?
thanks!

I'm not familiar with the pattern... can you send a picture of the design?

I do have a digital camera and take pictures of my shirts, etc., but have no idea how to get a picture onto/into this reply!
I went looking for a picture and here's a headress - the first picture on the left side:

I can see by looking at this shirt that I maybe need to dye bigger wedges with greater contrast between colors.
Sorry about my inability to show you one of my pictures.

That fold is almost regular "spider" - you will get it by making spiral on the edge of half-fold item.

That was my first try at that tie & dye - beginner's luck!
I think that was the first shirt that sold in the xmas boutique I'm in.

That shirt is amazing!!!  I just love it!
Did you dye it dry?  Your colors look great and right up to the edge of eachother.
