Hi All- I have a local art supply store ordering me a gallon of synthropol but what should I do until that arrives? Paula's website says you can wash (newly dyed items) in cold, warm, then hot with just water then wash with regular detergent. Do all of you use synthropol for the first post-dying wash? Have you ever just washed newly-dyed items in water and then detergent? Did you have backstaining problems? Please share you experiences and advice if you have it. Thanks and Happy Holidays, Marg

Of course, I'm sure you've received your synthrapol by now.... however, I read on someone's blog this week that dish detergent can be substituted for synthrapol. I haven't tried it though. I love synthrapol too much to try anything else unless I got desperate.
