I've come in a couple times to lurk and browse, and I thought I'd make it official...  I've been dying for a few years now.  The first dyes I did were on a camping trip.  I took my Mom's old linen napkins and we used Rit Dye.  I learned how to do swirls and thought they were the coolest thing since peanut butter and jelly.  cheesy Since Rit Dye isn't very fiber reactive, the rocks we layed out the dyes on looked cooler than the napkins, but it was a start.

I love doing mandalas the best.  I think it's the challenge.  I also dye socks. Lots and lots of them. Until my wrists hurt!

I'm hoping to learn some new techniques here.  Happy dyeing, everybody!

Long before I started my adventure with tie-dye, I lived in Northern Calif!  My first 7 years were spent in Dunsmuir... ever been there?  A small mountain community near Mt. Shasta.  I now live in a slightly larger mountain community in Arizona, and it reminds me of my childhood!
Love mandalas, need to practice doing them on shirts!  I have only sold one mandala so far...
Have fun learning here... lots and lots of good info and plenty of inspiration!

I do have photos! Not with me at this time, I'm not on my own computer. When I get home, I'll have to post some of them.

cheesy Well, I'm not strictly a Heinlein fan, although I have read Stranger in a Strange Land and Time Enough for Love.  I do love the stone Lapis Lazuli, though, and that's where I got my s/n.

Ha! Judy, I know exactly where Dunsmuir is.  Castle Crags and all that... I now live in Humboldt County, but I used to live in Weed!

It's a small, small world we live in...  smiley
