Oh Steve....... I was trying to upload pictures tonight - I got to the upload page to "browse" and entered the pictures - the page said that they had been uploaded successfully, but when I went to put them in my album and filled out the forms, I get a message that says "The previous file could not be placed". It also says "You have successfully placed all the files". But the pictures are nowhere that I can see.
I tried several times, and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right. The pictures are the correct size and I tried to do them one at a time also, but nothing is working; the pictures are not going into my album. k. taltre

I tried posting a picture again this morning and I get the error message "impossible to move" (this is from my desktop). I also tried to bring a picture over from photobucket, but that doesn't work either. I guess that if I want to show pictures I'll just have to put the url from photobucket in the post. k. taltre

This all has something to do with the server move and the handling of temp files.
Security has been greatly tightened as a result of this move. There were a number of insecure permissions to many files and directories in the gallery that I have cleaned up in the past 24 hours.
I will see if I can get it to work without compromising security--but it might take me a little while to figure it out. I have to locate a temp file on the server and make some changes.

Hi again Steve, I uploaded several pictures fine last night (and then deleted them), but several more wouldn't load, they weren't "acceptable". These unloadable pictures are not too big and there's nothing wrong with them, that I can see. Do you have any theories why some of my pictures load and some don't? Thanks Again! k. taltre

What size are the pictures in pixels? kb? Do they have the appropriate .jpg appended? Do you have the exact text of the error message?

You have several files up on the server that have not been processed by the software. The thing that they all have in common is .JPG as opposed to .jpg. Give that a shot. If that doesn't do it, I will shift the image processor grom GD2 to Image Magik and we can see if that works
I bumped the max dimension to 800 px and the file size to 128 kb.
I'm not having any problem with it right now. I have tweaked folder ownership and permissions and recompiled apache to include phpsuexec--everything is working with many different sites and different software.
Give it a shot. The last thing I can do is shift the image processor.

The error message is:
Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource /gallery/upload.php could not be found on this server.
This message is only on one picture! I have made sure it is under 100KB, and I tried with JPG and with jpg - no difference. I always get the "not acceptable" message.
I just loaded 5 other pictures with no problem. I made some JPG and some jpg, so that doesn't seem to matter and they are all under 100 KB.
By the way, on my Mac, Iphoto seems to automatically make all the pictures (from my camera) "JPG" not "jpg". Anyway, I guess I can upload most of what i wish, except for that one! Thank you again so much for your input! k. taltre

Probably something wrong with the picture itself. I've seen images that will open in one application, but others will flag as corrupt. Steve
