I've been trying to perfect those nice mirror images of a folded down the middle shirt. Not sure yet, but it seems that turning the shirt inside out with the front to the inside of the fold and having a lightweight knit helps.
Also I've started to Not apply the dye too heavily on the sides.
I'm going for the "faces" that some dye artists can get. I'm not there yet; sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't - mostly doesn't. My latest lightning V's in the gallery were pretty good mirrors, but I want to do a whole shirt of mirror design.
Anyone have any other ideas?

I think that lightweight knit helps in most pattern cases.
Do you do the folding also the way I do? - Stuff one sleeve inside another?

Oooh, I've never tried one sleeve inside the other! Must try that.
I just line them up side by side.
And yes, lighter weight fabric seems to mirror better.

Are you folding to get the mirror image, or folding and scrunching?  I really like the subtle look you are achieving with these!

Neat pieces! I think that many of us are trying to do some complicated folds while we are "blind" to unexplored possibilities of easy folds, which are fabulous when performed in a proper way. Thanks for these "eyeopener" pieces.

PS: was the last one it already with sleeves "united" in Jaja's style?
PPS for Kathy: I grew up with sewing all around me and later on I've got to learn alot of mathematic geometry.  wink
