Okay, so how did it work out? It was such an awesome idea for a party! (And the newbies usually don't care if their folds are non-standard anyway!) Did you take any pictures by any chance?

take it easy

I realize that this particular project is probably over, but I had an idea relating to it and I just joined.  wink I'm new to tie dye, but I've been doing quite a bit of research in the last month or two. I've seen the idea of an oven used to set dye before and I was wondering if it would be a good idea, both from a safety standpoint and to avoid problems with dyeing, to stick the damp dyed item in a plastic oven bag for roasting turkeys? I'd think this would give sort of a microwave set effect (plastic keeping the moisture in), without it being as likely the bag would explode like it can do in a microwave. Also, you wouldn't have the problems with metal fastenings, if any, in a regular oven. My thought was to stick the oven bag in a disposable roasting pan in case it leaked. Oven bags aren't the cheapest thing in the world, but I'd think you could rinse and reuse them for the next project. What do people think?
