Ok so, In my area there is a Drum Circle where a lot of people get together and bang drums, dance, burn incense and hang out. They also sell a lot of hippie stuff there. There is one stand that sell huge magnificent, hand died tie dye sheets.

There is one in particular that has caught my eye, it is a huge mushroom with an eye on it. So i was wondering, does anyone know how to tie something to make a mushroom (not necessarily an eye), from what I guess it is just like anything else (heart, peace sign, ect.) You just start by folding the cloth in half, and drawing half of the mushroom, but where do I go from there?

You have most of it down. All you have to do is fold pleats along the line forcing it into a straight line as you fold.

While the mushroom is not on the wiki, you can look at other shapes to get an idea.

(Of course somebody could always create an entry for mushroom!)

A wiki entry almost seems redundant in a way...symmetrical design, get creative! How do you envision this mushroom?  Draw half of it (with a washable marker) on a folded in half shirt.  Not sure? Play around with drawing mushrooms and folding them in half to see what you want there, make a stencil if you want  Remember that there are different kinds of mushrooms, be sure to think of the features that make the kindo f mushroom you are trying to achieve *that kind* of mushroom (little skirt, thin flat top vs chunky salad mushroom type, choices in coloring) or make a totally fantasy mushroom that simply looks cool.

If you did want an eye in the mushroom you would then draw the eye half as well.

Fold it up!  That's really it.  The sky is the limit on this stuff, if it is symmetrical, you can conceivably make a tiedye or it.

The video "Tie-Dye Made Easy" (which I just posted about again in the media section here) has a four handed/two people mushroom tie.
