what is the best way to rinse the tie after you let sit out for 24 hours...... and im having some trouble with the shapes http://tie-dyewiki.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=folds..... i dont understand how to get the actual shape after you fold along the sketch i drew.....

basically i what im doing once i let my dyes sit out for 24 hours i use cold water for 1 or 2 to rinse then i use hot water to get the extra dye out and then wash them and i notice that they fade a little bit and i was wonder if there is any other method anyone uses once you let them sit out for 24 hours???

ps: i dont use soda ash with my dyes is that the reason why they fade?Huh

phunky, if you're using procion fiber reactive dyes, you need to use soda ash.  Without it the colors will fade.

I'm not sure what you are asking about folds.

Ya, you need soda ash! I get it at the pool supply store "PH UP" made with sodium carbonate, $4 worth lasted me a month!
Ugg, I hate rinsing but if not done well the white, if any looks like mud. SO, I rinse in cold a while , then hot and wash in my tiny washer 1st rainbows, then reds, last blues and blacks. It seems to help to keep the colours separate as blues really take alot more rinsing....
