I have been dying for several years now, and recently tried to dye some hoodies,  I tried two , one a 90/10 and the other a 100 % cotton one.   I know it is not the dye etc,  because I dyed these in with a batch of tee shirts and all  the tees came out great.
both hoodies, regardless of the fiber content,  came out pale,  the yellow a tan,  the orange was yellow, the red a pink,  the purple a light lilac, etc.

I would really like to dye some for my family  but what do I have to do differently that will get them to dye correctly?  I wold love to be able to dye these with the same bright and true colors as everything else.  What do I have to do or am Doing wrong?
Thanks for any feedback.

Are they stain resistant? Permanent press? Did you scour them first by washing in hot hot water with extra soda ash and Synthrapol or other detergent?

Less likely is the possibility that they somehow got soaked in something other than the same soda ash as the rest of the things you dyed.

Sometimes clothing is mislabeled as to its fiber content. It is rare, but not unheard of, for 50% or 60% polyester garments to be labeled with the 100% cotton labels, by mistake.

If you did not buy PFD (prepared for dyeing) or RTD (ready to dye), be sure to get those next time. Dharma has them.

they were scoured and washed with the same technique and soda ash solution as the rest of the batch I did,  everything else in the batch came out with bright true colors,  the hoodies did not.   They were not stain resistant,  and These were bought from Dharma.

Are the hoodies a thicker type of sweatshirt fabric?
If they are, maybe they just need lots more dye.
Re-tie and dye them again and see if more dye helps.
If the hoodies are still not taking the dye, call Dharma and tell them of the problem, since they are Dharma's hoodies.
