HI all. i'm gaby, new to tie dying  grin

I want to dye a baby wrap (like a carrier) it would be 5 yards of unbleached muslin (big first project.. i know). I don't care how it comes out as long as it has some colors on it, can i use dylon on squirt bottles and that's it? without soaking it? how long would i let it cure for? any other tips would be great. thanks!

Dylon makes many different kinds of dyes. The instructions are completely different for one type than another. We can't advise you on how to use it unless you specify whether it's Dylon Multi Purpose, Dylon Hand Dye, Dylon Machine Dye, Dylon Permanent Dye, or Dylon Cold Dye. Don't use Dylon Multi Purpose dye, because it is  all-purpose dye so it requires scalding hot water and does not give long-lasting results, unlike the others, which are fiber reactive dyes.

The only one of the Dylon dyes that is suitable for using with squirt bottles is Dylon Cold Dye; you presoak the fabric in soda ash. If you have not already purchased the dye, you can buy Procion MX dye by mail-order for approximately one-tenth the cost of any Dylon dye, after correcting for the amount of fabric each packet can dye, and the colors are better, too, for Procion MX dye.

A possible alternative to tie-dyeing that I would recommend for your first project, especially one that's so large, is low water immersion (LWI). You can adapt the package instructions for Dylon Permanent dye for use in LWI.
