What size containers of dye do you tend to buy?

Please comment. Are there any other sizes you wish you could find?

If my health were always good, I'd buy one-pound jars. I don't like larger containers because they are inconvenient to handle. (The worst were the one-gallon buckets I got when I ordered from a company that is geared more toward wholesale. The buckets are handy to have around now, but I simply could not get them open myself, and the larger, stronger person who ended up getting them open had to use tools!)

Since I'm not able to dye as much as I'd like to, I usually buy 8 ounce jars of the unmixed MX dye colors, and 2 ounce jars of the occasional mixture.

I but the 8oz and 16 oz jars. My primary reason is storage space. I usually get the colors I use frequently in the 16 oz jars and colors I like but use less frequently in the 8 oz jars.

I buy 16 oz or more of my heavy use colors, and 8oz for colors I use less of.  If I am trying a new color out, I will usually start with 2oz just to see if I like it.

I don't have time enough to dye for it to be worthwhile buying larger sizes. To me, 8 oz. is a larger size, and 2-oz is good to see what  a color really looks like and play around with it a little.

take it easy

I find that the best buy is a pound and that the savings are not that great for greater quantities. I use a tremendous amount of dyes for each garment because I dye dry or nearly dry--12 ounces minimum!
