Can anyone advise me where I can get sized rubber bands? I often prefer on-line shopping, but I have'nt yet found wholesale  site that doesn't require  a 200 pound purchase.Don't think I need quite that many! I'd truly appreciate any tips on where to buy bands. Thanks...

Office supply stores (eg: Staples, OfficeMax, etc.) generally have an assortment of sizes in reasonable quantities and prices.

Some things were just meant to be bought at the 99-cent stores!  Assuming you have some near you.  You can also buy other schtuff real cheap, (well, 99 cents), for this hobby-- tupperware in every imaginable size/shape, etc.

Also, don't knock dental-floss as a rubber band substitute until you try it.  Not for everyone, I'm sure, but I like it.  And again-- it's at the 99-cent store for sure.

And as far as cleaning your teeth with the dental-floss after using it to dye shirts, well, the color on my teeth only lasts a few days at most, so...

Ok, that part was a joke.

I just wanted to say that in the case of rubber bands I will hit the office supply store before any dollar store alternative and I think we discussed this here before but I'll explain anyway.  Bottom line, a higher quality rubber band is worth the cost (imo) in savings to hand happiness.  Cheap rubber bands (in my experience) break more often and it is painful.  Few hours of folding up shirts and those snaps really accumulate in terms of pain.

I truly thank you all for your time and replies (and your timely replies!) It really helped jog my brain. The sensation of those snapping bands just came rushing back to me...and it's been 13 years since I've had a tie-dye operation! Quality is where it's at, and it seems to me that office suppliers are where THAT'S at!
     Thanks again.
