I dyed a bunch of hoodies for a local store that were a blend and had problems with them not holding up well to the process.  This only happened with the large sizes (2xl and 3xl as I recall) but still, it was a problem.  The waistbands gave so they looked stretched out.  I don't remember what brand they were though, probably not hanes, I'm thinking they were a 20/80, but again, don't remember for sure.

Anyway, I have been dyeing American Apparel hoodies, right now I'm working on a big looad of them.   I've used both the zip front and the pullover.  Very nice!  100% cotton and comparable in price to those hanes blend hoodies.

I haven't dyed hoodies, but if I did American Apparel would be on the top of my list to try. Their hoodies are much thinner than many and I suspect would yield better results in terms of design integrity. A heavier fabric makes it tougher to get a good design in my experience.

Steve, do you have a supplier you use for American Apparel?  Or do you go direct to them?  I am looking for a good wholesale resource that carries most of their line.

Last I knew Broder et al. carried the more popular items--but not even close to the entire line.

I have an account with American Apparel, but I haven't used it in ages. Michael probably carries the entire line in his blank apparel Amazon Store, but his prices will be retail. As I recall, I had to jump through a few hoops to get the account.

well i know you asked steve but I'll weigh in anyway  rolleyes

I do actually use my american apparel account.  it came easily enough.  go to their website and follow the directions for a wholesale account. you can buy by the piece, dozen, case from them with a wholesale account.  I guess there's a remote chance you can get their goods at retail for cheaper from a reseller but for wholesale, I'd imagine the best price comes from the source.
