I'm a fan of your shirts!
I'm curious, how long have you been dyeing?

Great results for beginner! Do you plan to experiment with color mixing too? I can see that you have already your style in color combinations (I have never seen spider fold in yellow/blue combination but I like it) Go on!

Hi!
Impressive for your first few shirts! You have really mastered the folding, judging by the crisp designs!
The top one is my favorite, I love those colors together. I'm curious - did you mix the brown, or buy it?

thanks...i bought the brown. I have found that using a fork for the spiral works very well!

Yeah, the fork trick is the best. The first few spirals I tried were with the pinch and twist technique - not great! I've also found with the fork that once I've twisted the fabric the spiral on the bottom is cleaner than the one on the top, from laying flat against the table. Therefore, I've been turning my shirts face down to fold. I just started doing this, so I don't know if it will make a difference in the final product or not. I have a few processing at the moment so we'll see this weekend!

Dude, may I bow to your folding? I can do accordion folds, but most of the time I don't. And when I do try it, it's never that nice. Very very nice.

HaHa...thanks but that fold was simple!...I can't seem to get the V fold down unfortionatly...i can get the accordion folds but when the tying it up part comes, they all mess up!...I'm tired of these simple folds, so I've got to take a trip to the local library to see if they have anything. Thanks again though

You've done some fine tying. You like pale, subtle colors, don't you? I'm obsessed with the most intense, bright, dark colors, myself. You say you want more ways to tie. Start right here in the Fold Tutorial section of the Tie-dye Wiki. Try an Earth, try a clamped accordion-fold. Try an over-all chaos. Do the stained-glass effect for any tie by dyeing the whole back surface of the tied bundle black, after saturating the whole thing with color in the usual way. Do shapes, any shape you can draw that has bilateral symmetry, following the fold tutorial for the heart or the shamrock or the guitar. Get a copy of the Tie dye 101 DVD series to see how they do peace signs and stars and mandalas. The possibilities are endless! Also try moving on to untied dyeing. Try Low Water Immersion, which uses the same materials, but usually with the soda ash applied after the dye instead of before. Paula
