Here is an album of my attempts so far. I'm hoping that, over time, I will be able to create more subtle designs and colors, but I'm having fun so far! I'd love your feedback!

Hi Y'all,

Thanks for the compliments! I'm having so much fun learning how to do this - my friends call me a tie-dye junkie 'cause it's all I think about  wink
Eventually I really want to be able to create some less obvious colors & patterns (like your stuff Deb) but I'm still getting the hang of mixing & dilution.

It's fun, anyway!

Hi mcraindog,

Have you watched Tie Dye 101 yet? It is one of the videos often talked about here, along with "the Art of Tie Dye". The fold for those shirts came from that DVD, and I just used my own selection of colors. I don't remember at the moment what Tom & Martine (on the video) call the fold. A dragon, if I'm not mistaken. I'm as new to this as you are, so a lot of my ideas come from the dvds and books I've read. I do recommend those videos if you have not seen them. Check with your local library to see if you can borrow them  smiley

Happy dyeing!

Lilah

Thanks for pointing out my spelling mistake, too! I fixed it now  wink

No I haven't watched any dvd's or read any books yet.  I can't bring myself to order one yet, but I suppose if I want to get better, then I must.  I have just gathered all my info from the internet.

I found all three of Tom & Martine's dvds at the library, too. Definitely check there before buying anything, once you've seen them a few times you kind of get the idea and can work off of what you've learned!

alright I'll have to check at the library first...and I mean maybe a little write up on some of the folds wouldn't hurt anyone either.  wink
