So I have basically mastered the basic folds and am looking to do something new.  The only problem is I can't find any good write-up's with pictures to help me out.  Any good ones?

Have you tried doing ombre and working with discharging and overdying? Could be fun  cheesy

Ombre is when a color fades from dark to light and discharging is removing color after a dye process. You can use the discharge to remove color in a design or pattern (or stamp) and re-aaply color to the discharged area. It opens a whole new area to play with. I personally love discharging.
Dharma and ProChem sell good discharge products.

Search around for pics of discharge work. There are some here.

Re: Discharge dyeing, I learned last year to use diswasher gel with bleach to stamp or screen a design on a pre-dyed fabric.  Here's an example:

In this instance, I dyed fabric using Low Water Immersion, then used a screen design I made and squeegeed through the diswasher gel.  As it dries, it bleaches out the color from the fabric.
Here's another example, where I applied the gel using a stamp I made on a commercially dyed shirt:

As for 'overdyeing', it is simply where you dye something, usually with LWI technique, then after laundering, you apply one or more other dye colors, instead of using one dye bath and several colors.

Hope that helps!

Those are great, Judy.

Mcraindog, you should also try low water immersion dyeing. It's a different technique than tie-dyeing, but uses the same chemicals and materials.
