So I keep trying to use turquoise and I keep failing, I have a terrible time mixing it and even after using high heat to cure my shirts, it still is barely there.
Everytime when I add water and try to mix it, it foams up and normally the bottle overflows, only after getting like 2 oz of water in. I've tried only adding a little at a time, but it doesn't really seem to help.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any tips? I really want to use turquoise, I have a pound of it.  undecided

That's very strange - I've never had dye foam up on me.

How old is your turquoise?
Turquoise does like warmer batching and some say 48 hours to batch it. I usually batch everything for 24 hours.

What company did you get it from? This sounds like a bad batch (the regular use of the word batch)(haha).
You should contact the company and discuss it with them.

I'm curious about 2 things: 1, are you using warmer water when you mix the turquoise?  I usually use warm, not cold tap water.  Secondly, I usually make a paste with the dye powder and a little water and thoroughly dampen the dye powder before I continue to add the water for the amount I am mixing.  I use a large margerine tub to mix in, then once I have added my water I funnel into a squeeze bottle.  It almost sounds like you are mixing directly into the bottle, but it may be how I am reading your post...
And I agree, if you are already doing those things, then the suspect has to be the dye powder.  Keep us posted on what you find out!

I do mix directly in the bottle, but I have tried mixing it in the pitcher, and I got the same results.
It's by Jacquard. I was thinking about it, maybe it's my water, it might have something in it that's reacting with it in a bad manner, I think I'm going to try it with some filtered water and see if that works.
