ok had one not turn out how I wanted. I'm thinking about doing it in a swirl now. So do I soak it again- it's been washed out with Synthrapol. Or do I activate the dyes. And IF I do that, HOW do I do that? How much soda ash do I add?

Once the shirt's been washed, treat it just as you would a new white shirt. Repeat the soda ash soak exactly as before. If you'd rather add the soda ash directly to the dye, you can see Michael Fowler's recipe on this page: Sodium alginate, Superclear, and other dye thickeners.

so do I need to do anything to the shirt if I add soda ash to  the dyes? Or tie as normal and dye?
