i seen a couple people asked about this so i took some pictures to demonstrate.





your line should be a little straighter then this

i use a liquid highlighter they draw on the wet t-shirts good and wash out easily. then i just free hand half of the mushroom. and then pleat the shirt around the marker to make that line you tie off... did that answer your question?
