im wanting to try a tapesty

ive never tried a tapestry before and i want to give it a try. where do you buy tapestries?

I hunt for cotton flat sheets at thrift stores and estate/rummage sales.

do you know what kind of cotton because i bought some muslin cotton and the dyes ran terribly and i think its going to turn out really bad

I not really knowledgeable about fabrics but Mercerized fabric is good.

Dharma will sell you samples of their fabric so if you wanted to order from them you could compare how each one would take the dye.

I've just made a couple of tapestries and they came out great.  First one I did was the peace sign.  I also hunt for cotton flat sheets at thrift stores and estate/rummage yard sales. 

If using new sheets, It's best to wash them before soaking and dying them.
