with seasons greetings and our (michigan) first snow storm i decided to try a snowflake design. this is my first attempt at a snowflake. i think it would have turned out better on a bigger piece of fabric. i used a 44" by 44" square. tell me what you think

That's pretty good for your first snowflake.
I think 44"x44" is a good size piece of cloth to work with.
What makes it a "snowflake"? Where did you see/learn the fold/tie?

i looked up how to make a paper snowflake then where it said to cut the paper i just folded the fabric

Just technical note: water/snow always crystalize in 6-sided symmetry, it's rule of nature.
