Hi.
My name's Angela, and I'm a tie-dye junkie.
It was all started by a onesie. My T-shirt shop had no baby things, and my suppliers didn't have any, so I made my first tie-dye onesie to sell in my store. I bought my first two-ounce jars of Procion MX from a little art store in Astoria. When I saw the brilliance of the colors, I was hooked. Now I'm up to one-pound jar habit, and experimenting more with color mixing and dilutions. I go to sleep thinking about TD, I dream about TD, and I wake up thinking about TD.
I don't tie-dye alone. My husband Brian supports my habit, and he ties the shirts that make the beautiful designs.
I'm looking forward to gleaning information from the wisdom of other tie-dyers.
Thanks for bringing me into the fold and sharing your wisdom and experience.

Hi, Angela.  Welcome to the forum.  I share a tie-dye business with my daughter (she ties 'em; I dye 'em) and whenever I say something to her about taking things from stock, she says, "You know I only sell this stuff to support my habit."  I do know that -- and we're both walking billboards for the business.  I'm afraid it's only gotten worse for us -- we ordered our first five-pound jar of dye last year.
Have fun exploring the forum -- there's lots of great information here and everyone is very generous with their knowledge.

Hi Jo.

You live in a beautiful area as well. My husband and I loved driving up there and exploring when we lived in Graham. Thanks for the welcome!.

Thanks, Releaf. Five pound jar. That's a lot of dye. We are dyeing everything we can to get ready for the Saturday market and the Washington State International Kite Festival this summer. I'm really excited about it. I think it's great how freely everyone shares their knowledge and experience.
